[Chevelle-list] axel end play

Wonder if you can help. Went to replace rear wheel cylinders on 66
Chevelle with what I believe to be a 12 bolt posi. My problem is after
removing the old drums the axel shaft moves in and out about 2mm or
close to it. This cant be right but was looking for most probable cause
and repair how to. I was also wondering if there are casting numbers on
the differential for identification and where to find them.
