[Chevelle-list] Phoenix Transmissions

I'm glad to hear it. I have gone through 4 Jasper 700R4's and I'm tired of
the problems. I'll bet I drove the truck less than 2000 miles! Everyone bad
trany they say is a problem with their rebuild.

I have a 46 Chevy truck with a 96 LT1 with the 700R4 for a trany! 4 times
for the trany to go out is a bit much. While they are good about warranting
the trany, I'm the one with the headaches and heartaches not to mention
paying all the cash!

Scott at Phoenix said they can bring it into the shop early Monday morning
and have it out the same day! If they check all they say they will, I am
impressed!

I keep thinking about going to the 4L60E with a standalone computer, but if
the 700R4 works, it would be the easier cheaper choice! What do you think?

I even bought the constant pressure valve body from TCI for the Jasper Trany
and used it on the last two. The first one had a valve sticking on the valve
body, and I had to have the trany taken out and a new valve body ordered. I
was out two valve bodies until TCI checked the first one and they didn't pay
for the cost of removing the trany, but did finally refund the money! Makes
me wonder and Phoenix is not crazy about the constant pressure valve body,
although TCI says they put them in all their newer 700R4's. Figure?

Has anyone used the new valve body??

I had them do a 4-speed to 700R4 swap for me a few years ago. Drove in,
left the car, drove back down, picked up the car. I built a custom console
to retain the original 4-speed shifter in the factory location. They set
up the cooler and custom set the new B&M Quicksilver shifter in such a
position so I could retain my custom console. Never had any type of problem
with the transmission they installed. They're about 160 miles from me but
it was worth the time and travel to get a good transmission.

Has anybody on list had experience with Phoenix Transmissions out of Texas.
I hear they are excellent especially with 700R4's. Need some feedback to
help out a friend trying to get good tranny for his Chevy.
