David,
I suppose you could take take the master cylinder off and do it that way.
Kind of the backwards way to do it, but if works, then it works. Let me know
what you figure out-

I don't know how they got the pin in. There are a couple of braces in the
way and the steering column. The only way I can reach the rod is with a pair of
long needle nose pliers. I'm thinking if I take the MC loose I can turn the
rod back in. May be wishful thinking.

David,
That's odd. I had no problem at all getting to it on mine. I even have a
clutch pedal. How did you get the pin in there? What else is in the way of you
getting the pin out? I know when I did mine, I took the drivers bucket seat
out. Its so easy to take 4 bolts out and be able to lay under the dash without
being a contortionist.

I tried, I can get the clip off (barely) but there is not enough room to get
the pin out. I can't even get my hand on any of the parts.

David,
Your problem is under the dash, like you suspect. You need to take the pin
out of the clevis, and adjust the clevis in(towards the firewall) about a
1/8th inch. You need to have a little bit of play right there, otherwise it will
lock up just like you described. It's a pretty common problem people have
when upgrading their master cylinder/boosters. You should have plenty of space
under the dash. I adjusted it under the dash on my 66. Good luck-

I had a Willwood master cylinder installed on my 66 chevelle w/non power
front disc/rear drum. The brakes lock up after about a mile of driving. I
checked the brake pedal rod and it has been adjusted all the way out which I'm
pretty sure is what is causing my problem. I tried to adjust the rod under the
dash but I can't get to it. Can I take the master cylinder loose and adjust it
from under the hood?
