Hi Jim,
I am sure it is not, but I see in your email address Juno. That isn't Juno
Lighting is it? I just wondered as Juno Lighting is one of my accounts.
I am not sure what you should ask for your car, but if it hasn't deteriated
since you bought it you should be able to get more than that now, especially
with the new parts that you also have now. I am sure that someone on the
list can direct you in the right direction, and who knows maybe one of them
will be interested in taking it off of your hands.
Sorry to see you get rid of it. Good luck and my sympathy to you regarding
your father.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Looking for opinions on a fair price for a 69 SS396
in good shape

Hi,

I've been a lurker here for the past 11 years and I have a 69 SS396 in
good shape (NOT mint, but not a beater by any means - a low 2 or high 3
on a 1-to-5 scale) that was excellently restored by someone else in the
early 90s (including new paint & rebuilt 72 402 Crate engine, etc.) and
then driven for a few years daily by that person until he got into
Corvettes and I bought this from him in 1997 and have garage kept it & it
runs FINE.

It is NOT a #'s match and is now Dover white instead of the original
Marine blue, but everything is period correct (correct interior, all
correct body pieces & rims).

I only put a few hundred miles on it a year for fun and I had intentions
of making it a project for me & my dad to restore it to MINT shape (I've
slowly acquire a BUNCH of new parts for it: new gas tank, new radiator,
new brake lines, new Flowmaster exhaust system) but now that he's
developed terminal cancer and I really don't have the time or interest to
do it by myself, I'm thinking of selling it this summer along with all
the new parts

I'm trying to figure out what a fair price is for it (I paid $8k for it
locally in 1997 and the new parts I have for it list for well over $1000
new.

Anyone have any opinions or ideas what I should ask for it? I'm NOT
looking to make a killing but if I do decide to sell it, I would like it
to sell and not sit with a sale sign on it for months & months.

        Thoughts?

        Jim -69-SS396- H.
