Larry,
DON'T go to Hi-Tech in Salt Lake City. After 30 miles the rocker arm studs
started pulling out around #4. Engine sent back to them for inspection, and
they said there was nothing wrong with it and if I did not want it back they
were going to reassemble it and sell it to the next person that ordered that
particular engine. I told them to keep it. Guess they screwed up and it
didn't last until the warranty ran out.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Crate Engines
Has anyone ever had a good experience with a crate engine ? I bought a
small block Chevy, crate engine, through Jasper several years ago to put in
my boat. It seemed like an economical alternative to rebuilding the one I
had. Long story short, it failed about 30 days out of warranty. When we took
it apart to see why, it had been over-bored and sleeved. Who sleeves a small
block gas engine ?!! Just wondering if there is a reliable mass-production
engine builder/rebuilder, performance or stock, out there ?
