[Chevelle-list] master brake cylinder

Hi guys well the list is pretty slow but I am in the process of replacing the master cylinder on my 70 and have a question for ya. I had a round style that was on the car with the bleeder screws in it. It was pretty much a waste so I got the square style with out bleeder screws that I believe to be the original style that came on the car. After a bench bleed I installed it on the booster and I had to really force it on. My question is is this normal or is the rod in the booster a different length for the round and square styles of cylinders?After I mounted the cylinder it seemed the brake pedal only had a very little travel and the cylinder felt as if it was bottoming out. Can ya all help as you all seem to always come thru?? Thanks so much? Steve
