Differences besides the price I assume you mean.

First a quick lesson on radio decoding for 1970...

The first digit "0" is the model year in this case 1970. The second digit represents the GM division, in this case "1" = Chevy. The third digit "A" represents the body style, all Chevelles are A bodied cars so all 1970 Chevelle radios will begin 01A. The last digit be it a 1, 2, or 3 only represent the design run, no significant differences. The ones that matter are digits 4 and 5. These represent what the radio actually is. PB is a pushbutton AM mono radio. FP is an Am/FM pushbutton mono radio (1 speaker in the dash center, FM is an AM/FM pushbutton stereo Radio. MP is for a Multiplex adaptor (8 track).

The other difference amongst these units are how much they go for. AM radios are fairly common and can be had for $50-$100 in working order. AM/FM mono units $250-$300, AM/FM Stereo units $500+.

    Hello All -

I looking for some information but can't seem to find it - I have a '70 Chevelle and the previous owner changed the radio - I'd like to replace it with an original radio - I went to www.chevelles.com and found out that there were a number of different combinations - They list (2) different AM/FM Stereo radios Model 01BFM1 and 01BFM2 - Does anyone know what the difference is?? They also list (3) different AM/FM pushbutton radios Model 01BFP1 - 01BFP2 and 01BFP3 - What's the difference between these models - Thanks you the "Lists" help
