[Chevelle-list] fuel gauge

Harlan, It sounds like the sender is shorted out or the wire to the sender is shorted to ground. When I test a gauge I ground the sender wire and the gauge will read full plus if the gauge is good. Try uhooking the sender wire from the gauge to see if it drops to empty.

  on the 70 chevelle the fuel gauge sits at way past full and stays there.. what might be the cause??
