  Hey Terry,

My '65 had a resistor wire but as part of he crate engine install I
replaced it with heavy gage regular wire. Is there another resistor wire I
don't know about inside the HEI?

  Thanks,
  Dennis

  Hey Dennis,

A friend of mine had the same problem with his 66 Malibu after we left
the Nashville Speedway last year at Chevellabration. We stopped and ate at
the Sonic, thirty minutes later, the car wouldn't start. He believes now he
has located the problem with it being the resistor wire that he is using to
fire his HEI coil. He isn't sure yet, but before he heads out Thursday from
Louisville, he is going to replace this wire. Just my two cents.
