[Chevelle-list] OPG

My experience with OPG has been positive, for the most part. I did have a
bit of a customer service headache when I ordered some "full length" floor
pans which IMO were not full length. The description in the catalog made it
sound like the pans went from toe board to under the back seat and I didn't
know any better. The guy I spoke to when ordering them assured me this was
the case, but when they got here, the pans stopped just in front of the back
seat. Considering that under the seat was one of the worst areas for my
car, I really needed this. I called the same guy and asked him to see if
they had a pan that did go under the seat. He told me the part number of a
part that he "knew" was a full pan - the same part number I had in my hands!
On a positive note, they did offer to refund my money in full including
shipping (both the return shipping and the original shipping). I ended up
keeping the pans and fabbing the parts I needed under the seats. There was
another order that got messed up shortly after that and that time it was
completely my fault. Nevertheless, they gave me a complete refund on the
parts and ALL shipping.

My favorite OPG experience was I placed an order for several items. Two
weeks later I called to check on a delivery date. The "customer service" guy
says that it would take another week to get it shipped as they had just got
around to processing the order that day. Seems they "had been real busy" and
it was taking them two weeks just to process an order. He thought I was
being a jerk for thinking that was an unreasonable amount of time to get the
order in their system. That order took a month to receive and half of the
items were backordered. I still buy an occasional item from them because
they do have things that other companies don't.

I have never had the opportunity to buy from OPG, because when I have called
them, they never have the item instock. They explained they will ship items
as they come in and pro rate shipping based on what the total would be to
ship all items at once. Not worth the hassel. NPD and GU have been good,
but 90% of the I time use Classic Muscle, best on pricing, cost of shipping,
quality of parts and service. They list all parts by the original GM part
number which makes it real easy especially when using the Assembly Manual
for replacing parts.

Deal with OPG long enough and you will find out what the issue is. A ripoff
on shipping, and they will tell you they have something when they don't. I
will never use them again.
