The standard orbit sander would work for 99% of what you will encounter.
The finishing sander is great for sanding clearcoats with an interface pad and 1200 or 1500 grit paper, but it makes the other work tedious.

What is the practical difference between a "Production" sander and "Finishing" sander. For automotive work which would I use? Thinking about the IR 4152 or 4151 -

Or do I need both? I know the finishing will leave a smoother surface and the production will cut faster. Thx.
