I hadn’t seen any responses on this one, so I’ll speak up.  A 283 is worth
very little unless you’re going for a numbers-matching resto, or you’re a
sicko like me who likes to see just how far you can rev an engine.  In the
condition you’ve described, it’s worth even less.  Your best bet is to see
if you can get scrap money for it.  At this pont it’s a core, and most
everybody is going to a 350 like you’re doing.

I have a 1967 283cu.in. motor. complete. it runs good but needs a rebuild.It
leaks and smokes.  I would like to sell it. Iam putting a new crate 350 in
my car so I have no need for the 283. could somebody give me an idea on what
to ask for it. Thank you.
