Larry, I figured as long as I had it referenced somewhere in my computer, I should be able to find it.

Here's a link to that article.

  Larry,
Sorry. It wasn't Car Craft. It was Super Chevy. The April 2006 edition has built a 307 that puts out 315 hp @ 5200 rpm and 330 lb-ft torque @3800 rpm. Not bad at all !!!!!! They claim it will also work for 305's.
Well it seemed like it was only 6-8 months ago.

Thanks Jim, My buddy plans to go close to stock except maybe an intake and carb, but I will look through my stack of Car Craft mags.

Larry, I don't have an answer to your question, but thought I would let you know that Car Craft had an issue about 6-8 months ago on how to hot rod a 307 build up. Don't know what you're planning but just an FYI.

PS : The 307's had different engine/frame mounts than most other SB's. But you must already have these if you took it out of a Chevelle.

I recently sold a SBC 307 engine out of a 72 Chevelle to a friend. We are just starting on a rebuild project so he can install it into his 71 C10 pick-up.. I've built a few BBC engines before, but never a SBC. Is there anything particular that I should be aware of before we start putting this engine together?

Also, can someone point me to a site with torque specs for all the SBC bolts?

      Thanks!
      Larry Shouse
