Hello:i noticed in all the replies, that the most important thing to do
before replaceing the pads, was not mentioned.Crack open the front bleeders
and invert the brake calipre to allow the dirty old fluid to be drained from
the brake calipre. This should be done for a couple of reasons.(1) if the
vehicle has abs,the old contimanited fluid will be pushed back into the
hcu, causing the hcu to possibly become defective.(2).when the bleeder is
cracked open, the calipre is inverted, the old fluid will not have any chance
to be pushed into the hcu.You can use a large apir of channel lock pliers.a
c clamp,or install the new pads and use a calipre spreader to push the
piston back in.
