Karl,
You shouldn't have any problems at all with the ABS. If I remember correctly the sensor on my 95 4x4 3/4 Ton is on the hub so if all you are doing is pads you wont bother it.
If you have the same vintage as mine, pray that the rotors are OK. They are miserable to remove. There are 4 bolts on the back of the hub that need to be removed, the nut for the CV joint then lots of pieces, bearings, etc.
I would also recommend premium pads. I have had good luck with Wagner products. Some of the other brands just don't last.
