I haven't had a problem with them leaking, but I'm getting a little tired of them wearing out prematurely. I've been through 2 of them in my 86 Cutlass and 2 in the 69 Chevelle in the last 3 years. Neither car has a draw present either.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] AC Delco Battery (off topic)
Has anyone else had problems with leaking AC Delco sidepost batteries?
I had 2 replaced in my 99 Chev truck, first one was under warranty, the second was on my dime, went to an Optima Red Top after that.
The leaky battery ruined the positive cables and made a mess of the battery tray and frame rail.
I replaced the one in my C5 vette before it had the chance to ruin anything. Put in an Optima there too.
Today I pulled the back seat in my wifes Bonneville SSEi and that sob Delco had leaked and ate up the floor pan and made a mess out of everything.
The positive post pulled right out.
This really sucked with it being under the back seat, battery acid nice and close to the carpet, upolstery etc.
Now I need to find a replacement that is configured with the gas release vents that go throught the floor pan.
Thanks,
Bob Belz
