You probably can think of advantage/disadvantage with both ...

A 2 post would probably be less expensive to do wheel/suspension/brakes/etc. because the 4 post (drive on) requires some kind of additional lift which (at least one type) goes on the rails of the inside of the wheel channel/ramps... 

A 2 post can be a little tight in small garage and is fixed in position, and so sometimes a pain to get in and out of car/truck after line the vehicle/lifting pads up for lifting...and then after you pull the motor and trans the weight distribution of the vehicle on the 2 post lift changes.

would't a 2- post be better for doing like wheels/tires, rear ends, lifing a body from the frame etc??
