You're right, forgot that 64s begin with the year then series/model.  Camino
could be 45380/45480 (6/8 cyl) for the base El Camino or 45580/45680 (6/8
cyl) for the Deluxe series.

 

If, IF there had been a Malibu SS equivalent, they'd be 45780/45880 - but
there wasn't.  Might be it has factory buckets leading owner to think it's a
SS. (?)  Or simply lack of knowledge.

The number will be 5480 for an El Camino 8 cyl Two door sedan pickup as the
138 did not start until 1965 production. 1964 would be  5837 for  Malibu
Super Sport 8 cyl Two door hardtop
