Hey Mike,
Try the Hedman Elite shorties. PN: 500-68618 I put 'em on my '72 "Silver
Bullet" wagon (502w/Richmond five-speed) and they worked great... cleared
the clutch linkage and gave me plenty of ground clearance. The tubing was
heavy 14-gauge and the head flange was a full 3/8-inch thick, so no warpage,
plus they come already ceramic-coated. Plug clearance, as I recall was
pretty good, but then I think with most BBC headers (regardless of the
manufacturer) it's not as problematic as with the SBC applications. Seems I
paid about $300 for the set. HTH!
