[Chevelle-list] 12 Bolt Posi Rear - What's it worth?

Karl,

I'll be honest here- I always see ads where people are
selling these for $1000 or more, but they never seem
to move at that price imo.

Also, with the advent of spools and the fact that
10-bolt posis can be beefed up to handle decent HP,
the 12-bolt posi isn't the Holy Grail it once was.

I would say if it needs to be gone through, and you
don't know the condition of the ring and pinion gear, 
it's probably worth $500-$600.  Also, if it's a 71
Chevelle rear, it's 1" longer than the '66-67 year.

way..
