[Chevelle-list] 1971 hood spring ?

I have some new spring to put on the hinges of my 71 Chevelle.  The new springs don't seem to be correct as they don't really line up, and the back of the hinge where the spring hooks is too "fat" for the bent end of the spring to go around.

I was hoping that someone had a picture or could take one of the hinge and spring assembly on a 71 for me so I can see what the deal is.
