[Chevelle-list] 1967 Corvette 427

It'd only be numbers matching to one car since the VIN would only match one
car but it'd be date applicable to many. Even a 427 for a 69 would be worth
'probably' more to a Corvette guy. I read somewhere that their judging
allows for restamped engines as far as date and suffix code go. True/False?

If it's numbers-matching,it's still worth a lot to the right individual. If
not,buy it and use it. What were you wanting to do with it?

I found out the engine came from a 69 Vette that he has in the 67. It's not
an original car, although I would fix the engine! When you hit an oil well
and it brings in $100,000 a month you can do what you want to!!(GRIN)

Is this guy aware that he's throwing away what probably equates to more than
50% of his car's value?
I'm no restoration freak, but even I wouldn't throw that engine away. Heck,
even if he wants a different engine in the car, he could pack away the 427
in case he later decides to restore or sell the car.
And, IMO, throwing away a mechanical item because of an electrical problem
makes zero sense

It's a stock running 427 from a 1967 Vette. It is complete, but I'm sure he
will take the distributor out. He's having some problems with the engine,
that I believe are electrical in nature. He plans on putting in a larger
crate motor! It would not be my choice for a nice 67 Stingray, but I don't
have his money!
I think I can get the engine cheap, but want to be fair. I need to do some
checking to see what the HP is on the engine. I would imagine around 390 and
doubt it's the 430HP, but that's a big guess!
