A 396 will easily go .060 over without problems. Some have been taken out a lot further but only sonic-testing will let you know,safely.

  I am curious on much can a 396 block be bored over?  Not knowing how much my numbers 396  has been bored in the past - I am hoping there is still one more cut in order to true up the walls for new rings / pistons on a future rebuild.
