Tom,

I have a 307 car running a 350. If I understand you correctly, the reason it went in is because I used 307 motor mounts. If I use these same motor mounts I will be able to install my 454 without changing the frame mounts.
If I go out and buy 454 motor mounts I will have fit issues.

Godspeed,
Dan Solomon
It is a mistake to allow any mechanical object to realize you are in a hurry.

Quick education on 1970 engine mounts.

6 cylinder cars ar ein the arold of their own.

307 cars have taller frame stands and shorter engine mounts.  If you have an original 307 car, you will need to use 307 engine mounts for whatever you decided to put in.  307 mounts will bolt on to and chevy V-8 engine.  The 307 frame stands and engine mounts are also wider than the 350/big block ones.

350/big block cars have shorter frame stands and taller engine mounts.  For these cars, use 350 engines mounts, they will bolt on to any Chevy V-8.
