Makes sense - let's you use a stock-type item like the fuel pump that may
not as hard to find a replacement for as an aftermarket specialty item.

I am installing a lt1 out of the caprice, so just to simplify things I used
the Caprice tank, which already has an intank fuel pump

What advantage does the Caprice tank offer? In-tank pump?

I agree totally, a plasma cutter will make this only a few minute job. I
also installed a tank from a 95 Caprice

If you have access to a plasma cutter, by all means, use that. If you do
not, then use a cut off wheel on a 4 1/2" grinder. Wear goggles!

Hiya,
I'm installing a fuel tank from a 95 Caprice as part of my engine swap,
and I need to cut 3/4" off each lower framerail to do it. What's the
best tool to use?
Dave.
