I would highly recommend running Shell Rotella for engine break-in,if your engine has flat tappets. Valvoline Racing oil is another one. Both have the needed additives. Late model roller motors don't have to have them and those additives will damage catalytic converters.

Hi Everyone..
I'm doing a cam change on my 327 and have been doing some reading about engine oils..I have seen numerous times in some articles that using diesel engine oil for the break in period and actually for the first 3000 miles is a better way to go...I saw one article using Shell Rottela oil....They say its because the oil companies have quit putting in some of the additives that prevernt premature wear.....
My question is....Has anybody used the diesel oil in their engine???
