[Chevelle-list] Tire pressure?

I think front to rear weight is more like 60%/40% or just a tad less on the
front and more on the rear. For a 68SS sport coupe the curb weight is
listed as 2065 lbs. front and 1620 lbs. rear with 3685 lbs. being the total
giving a weight distribution of 56%/44%.

It is normal to have more of a bulge in the front, as approximately 70% of
the weight of your vehicle is on them. It's not uncommon to run more
pressure in the front than the rear, especially if you have wider rear
tires. 265s are about as wide as you'd want to run on your 7" rims. I ran
255/60/15s on 7" rims years ago and never could get them to wear evenly,
even running as low as 20 psi. I'd start your fronts in the 34 psi range
and the rears about 28. Do expect that the center of the rear tires will
likely wear out first. Rotating frequently will help this, but not solve
it.

Ha ha! No I take it quite easy :-)
Maybe I should go for a narrower tire at the front?
It is as if the tire cant take the weight of the engine due to its
bulginess and width, leaving the front tires looking a bit flater!?
Its not a big difference but it looks as if theres less air in
the front tires even though the pressure is the same on all four.
Its 265/50 15s on 7 rims.
Maybe I should do what Karl suggested?

I would run 30 psi in front and 28 psi in the back tires, if going to get on
it hard!! Ha Ha if you know what I mean!!!!

Hi guys!
What tire pressure would you reccomend for a 402 BB with 265/50 15''?
I run 2.5 kilos (approx 36 PSI?) in all four but the front tires gets a bit
deformed since the car has 70% of its weight at the front!?
Should I compensate for the higher weight at the front?
Best regards
Pelle
