Again, not proof, so please nobody take it as gospel and spread the word
like many on eBay are trying to do.
The "L" seems, SEEMS, to hold true for KC in 1970 and maybe 1972. I only
have one 1971 KC tag so there's not enough info there. Beginning in 1970,
Baltimore seems to have fallen in love with the letter "B", and to some
extent the letter "D", but I have 2 1971 tags with this "B" and one's a 4-dr
sedan.
As far as the "CL" air cleaner code I only have one KC SS sheet (LS5) and it
has the same broadcast code; no ZL2 cowl induction so that would eliminate
that one I would think. Two L48s I have show "CJ" and one base 307 has
"CE".

Dale,
Does that apply to all years of SS cars after 68 or just the 69 model.
Just curious, now I need to look at my cowl tag.
BTW I was lucky enough to find 2 build sheets for my 71 SS 454.
Leed's Plant KC car.
I really would like to know what all the codes are in the various boxes on
the build sheet.
Some are easy enough but I still would like to know what the "CL" code is
for the air cleaner.

Not proof positive but research indications show that almost all known SS
Chevelles from KC and Baltimore had the letter "L" on the Fisher Body plate
under the lower body paint code. Again, nothing proved or disproved, but
stats show this to be the case so far.
