A 3.55 is a good combination with the 700R4. I turn 2400 R's at 80 MPH and have a real good launch.

    Bob
I'm running 3.31's with a 700. At highway cruise speed I feel that the motor is on the ragged edge, and I don't have a high performance cam. I believe that cruise RPM is right at 1700+ . I'd suggest you go even 1 gear set lower than 3.36. Either the 3.42 or 3.55 if its available. It might make a slight difference in cruise MPG but around town I'd bet the 3.42 or 3.55 would do better than what you are gettin with the 2.56.

IMO, a 2.56 gear in the rear and a 700R4 is too low. Even for a daily
    driver, I'd run 3.42 gears with a 700R4.
That's gotta feel like it is lugging at 1,400 RPMs.
