[Chevelle-list] header problems

I ran into this same issue with the custom Stahl headers I had made for my
Elky. Fortunately, the # 7 tube is removable from the rest of the header
and I was able to send it back to Stahl and they redid that tube.
Unfortunately, even after the tube was modified, I still had a clearance
issue with the clutch linkage and I ended up relocating the Z bar closer to
the firewall by way of a bracket I fabricated on the engine side, along with
a small bracket on the frame side. It was a pita but now that it's done it
works very good and there are no clearance issues. Also, while I was at it,
I made heim jointed rods for the linkage to ensure proper adjustment that
wouldn't change over time.

Just installed Hedman 2" headers on my '67 396 and while they fit a lot
better than the Hookers I took off, the z bar is hitting them and not
allowing enough clutch adjustment. Anyone have this problem? The warranty is
void if I dent the tube so I'm at a loss.
