[Chevelle-list] Cold primary on #8 :-(

The first thing I did when I noticed it was to hook up the strobe & it
detects “pulse”.

I also swapped the ignition wire & plug with #7, but no change”

The spark plug isn’t exactly fouled but a tad darker than the other plugs,
indicating

that It fires but maybe not under the right condidions?

I’ll do a comp test this weekend!

BTW. Are the lifters mechanical or hydraulic on a 1971 402 2-bolt?

Haven’t been that deep into the engine yet & I’m at work at the moment
so I cannot check.

Pelle

Sounds like it isn't firing. Pull the plug and look to see if it looks fuel
fouled, also you can hook your timing light up to it and see if it triggers
the strobe. That will at least let you know it's firing.

The primary tube on #8 cylinder is much colder than the rest!

Haven't checked anything yet!

What's your best bet?

Best regards
