Mike,
When putting together my 66, I used AN fittings and braided hose to replace
my entire fuel line. As Clint says, it was my first time and it was pretty
straight forward. I think the key is to draw out your run from tank to crab
and order exactly what you need. I bought all my stuff from Summit. They
carry two or three different brands with differing prices, and their sales
guy knew his way around with the fittings. Also, you can get AN to 3/8 barb
fittings if you can't do the whole thing AN.

I have some experience with the stuff but don't think AN fittings will work
on plain rubber hose. I could be wrong though,Mike.
It's not really a hassle and there is a lot more hose & fitting options
available out there now for just about anyone's budget.
