[Chevelle-list] Hard to start!

I was trying to determine if you had fuel in the carb bowls after the
car was sitting & before you crank it. How about remove the air cleaner
after the car has been sitting a while. Open the choke plate as wide as
possible. With a good flashlight look into the carb and try to see if it is
wet and there is gas puddled at the bottom of the intake.
If its not wet, still the choke plate open and watching down the carb
throat, move the accelerator pump, you sgould see gas squirt into the carb.
