You may be able to have a line made up for you. I know of a local parts house that can make up a line with any fitting you may need.

I am using a later box and that definitely seems to be the issue. Instead of an adapter, can't I just buy the fittings and the 6" hard line? I thought that would be easier but then again, I can't seem to find them anywhere J

OOps
Early P/S boxes did not have o-rings. Later ones did. The early hoses have a flare fitting on the end that mates to a flare in the box coupling.
IF you are using a later box that used o-rings, you can buy adapters that allow the use of early non o-ring hoses.

Most of the fittings in PS boxes use o'rings. Also later boxes have metric threads. one 18 x 1.5 and one 16 x 1.5.

Hey Everyone,
I just put on a new (used) steering box on my Chevelle but I've found that after screwing the two lines in, they move around even though the bolts are tight. Is there supposed to be some sort of grommet in there? With the lines loose, the fluid just comes right out (of course). Any ideas?
Thanks!
