[Chevelle-list] Pre paint

Don't use lacquer thinner. Any wax & grease remover will do but not lacquer thinner. W&G remover is usually mostly naptha with other solvents to slow the evaporation. Lacquer thinner is mostly acetone which will attack many plastics and paints. W&G remover is designed to float oils, wax and other impurities to the surface where they can be removed with a clean rag before the solvent evaporates and lets the contaminants settle back down on the surface.

Considering the work it takes to prepare a car for paint, and the cost of automotive paint, W&G is cheap insurance.

I guess I'll use lacquer thinner. I use it for most everything else anyway. Didn't know if PrepSol had something special in it that made it worth the extra bucks.

I sent something to Prepsol but never heard back from them.
  Thanks guys.
