Hi Dave,
I have a 1968 Chevelle SS 396 that I installed a One-wire Alternator from Powermaster on 06-20-2002. Part number 8002. the Output at Idle is with a stock pulley at 2400 rpm was 75 amps, and at hwy speeds of 6000 Dyno Rpm was 102 amps. I just had to run a wire directly to the battery. I didn't mess with running it through the starter etc. I also had to modify my Voltage Reg to keep the battery light from staying on all the time. The only thing I run off this is an MSD box, radio lights etc. No stereo or other add ons.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Alternator Question
I was wondering what size of Alternator I should be using on my 1968 Beaumont (350/350). I have a 63 amp and it was working good until Sunday night I got caught in the rain coming home from cruise night. With wipers, lights and heater blower going the volts were down to 12 and was a little worried. What size Alternator are most of uses using.
Thank you in advance
Dave
