>Morning guys (or gals, depending on who opens this email),
>I’m having trouble with the starter on the Chevelle. Last night I went
>to
>start the car it wouldn’t start. Turn the key and nothing. No click, no
>nothing. Everything else works, headlights, radio, interior light, etc. I
>was able
>to jump start the car by coasting and letting the clutch out. It took me
>about
>twenty-five minutes to get home. I turned the car off once in the garage,
>then tried starting the car again. The car started without hesitation.
>This is
>typical when ever I experience this problem. This might happen twice in a
>week or it may happen once every couple months. The only consistency is it
>never
>seems to happen in cool weather.
>I’m considering the following items next,
>- by passing the neutral safety switch.
>- installing a new ignition switch.
>A little history,
>This started around three years ago. At that time I had a rebuilt GM high
>torque starter. I installed a reduction starter from Jeg’s about six
>weeks ago
>giving into the heat soak theory with the stock starter and headers. I
>considered changing the battery cable along with the starter but it looked
>in
>perfect shape, no damage or corrosion.
>Any ideas or suggestions?????
>Thanks in advance!
