Nick Mihailoff passed away unexpected on Jan 23rd 2008.  Nick was an avid supporter of the BC Chevelle Club.  The personal time he gave to the newsletter, as a camera man, and as the website manager will be match by no other.  He will be missed by all of us in the club.

Nick was born on Christmas Eve 1948 in the year of the Rat in Tsintao China to Russian Parents.  In the early 50's, when Nick was three years old his entire family (Parents and Sister) immigrated to Vancouver B.C. Canada.

He was a student at Edith Cavell Elementary School Grades 1 to 8; then attended Eric Hamber Secondary School Grades 9 to 12.  Nick completed first year University at Vancouver College then graduated UBC's Applied Science Faculty (Mechanical Engineering Specialty) with the class of '71.

He spend the first 24 years of his career with an Engineering Consulting firm which found him travelling all over the world on many diverse and interesting projects as Engineer in Charge of Field Operations.  He left that firm to pursue the second portion of his career as a self-employed consultant.

Nick's pastimes included tennis, baseball, football and racquetball.  He enjoyed bike riding and long walks at Bridgeman Park with beloved canine companion Pharoah and Friends.  He played on his High School's Rugby Team and was an active participant of the Hungry Pilgrim Social Club.  Nick enjoyed many apres raquetball rehydration sessions.  He was also an active member of the BC Chevelle Club as the restoration of his 1980 El Camino was a long term project.

Safe Journey, Nick.
